Meteorologist John Hammond has warned that there is "still plenty more rain to come," even though we have "faced the worst of it."
The UK has been swamped with torrential showers over the past week, with a now expired amber weather warning in place.
Speaking to GB News he said: "The amber warning has expired. Still plenty more rain to come through this morning across the more southern and central parts of England and Wales, but not the intense downpours. I think the risk of thunderstorms is diminishing.
"The risk of tornadoes, isolated though they will be, will diminish as well. But a dreary old day across southern counties with with further rain at times, which is not going to help the clear up operation. And on that note, although the rain will start to ease off, of course flood waters in some places are continuing to rise."
