Many parts of Britain were battered with thunderstorms, which resulted in high humidity levels earlier this week.
The UKHSA said: “Yellow alerts mean that any impacts include the increased use of health care services by vulnerable populations.
"And an increase in risk to health for individuals over the age of 65 or those with pre-existing health conditions, including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.”
"All regions of England have been placed under a yellow alert for this period. Five regions were previously under an amber alert from Friday 9 June until 9am this morning and have been de-escalated to yellow," the body added.
The Met Office say the high temperatures are set to continue as some parts of the UK already exceeding the heatwave threshold, with temperatures reaching above 30C for the first time in 2023.
Met Office meteorologist Dan Stroud said: "The weather will try and settle down on Tuesday and mid-week. But it will maintain this well-above-average temperature. Most of the UK will meet heatwave criteria."
Friday's forecast includes a short break from the heatwave as temperatures are expected to fall below 24C.
But by June 23, temperatures are set to soar again with most parts of the country facing above average heat until July 11.
