Britain is set to bask in glorious sunshine throughout the week as the Met Office forecasts dry weather across the UK with daytime temperatures "a good few degrees above average".
The delightful spring conditions will see most of the country enjoying fine weather well into the weekend.
Simon Partridge, a meteorologist at the Met Office, explained: "High pressure is building over the UK."
While some brief cloudiness may affect Northern Ireland, Scotland and north-west England today, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry and sunny nationwide.

"Most days are fine, dry and sunny, which is great," Partridge added.
Temperatures are expected to reach a pleasant 17C to 18C across much of the UK this week.
The mercury may even climb to a summery 20C by Thursday, with the south east enjoying the best of the sunshine.
"Temperature-wise, we're looking around about 17C to 18C, and quite widely as well," said Partridge.
"Most parts of the UK will be sort of mid to high teens tomorrow so yes, a very nice day."

The forecaster confirmed that daytime temperatures will climb "a good few degrees above average" every day this week and could continue into next week.
Mercury will also stand marginally higher than the temperatures seen across Iberia, including Ibiza.
This splendid weather offers a perfect opportunity for Britons to enjoy the outdoors as spring truly arrives.
Despite the warm days, Partridge warned that chilly temperatures will likely follow the daytime warmth, with clear skies potentially leading to some frost overnight.
"Night-time temperatures are almost exactly on average, so overnight we're getting pretty much what we should be getting," he said.
The Met Office meteorologist advised gardeners to exercise caution with new plants.

"There's still a chance that we'll see a touch of frost overnight most nights this week, but not much," he explained.
"It's just something for those people that are out and about getting their gardens ready: don't put the new plants out just yet."
Towards the end of the week, the weather pattern may shift slightly as the high pressure system moves eastward.
This could bring somewhat breezier conditions to western and central areas of the UK.
"But nothing too bad," Partridge reassured.
Sunbathers during heatwave
PAThe forecaster emphasised that the overall outlook remains positive for those planning outdoor activities.
"Generally dry weather, plenty of sunshine, just turning breezier as the week goes on," he said.
This extended period of settled weather comes as a welcome respite after the typically changeable British spring conditions.
