The Met Office has issued a yellow ice warning across four regions of the UK, with officials warning of potential snow.
The alert comes as overnight showers are expected to create hazardous conditions, particularly affecting travel on Thursday morning.
Forecasters are particularly concerned about wintry conditions developing over high ground in Northern Ireland, while northern Scotland could see snow, especially in areas above 200 metres.
The yellow weather warnings will remain in place in northern Scotland, the Highlands and Northern Ireland from 10pm on Wednesday until 10am on Thursday.

The weather system is expected to create challenging conditions for travellers, with increased risks of accidents and injuries.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Showers on Wednesday night will lead to a risk of icy patches."
The spokesperson added: "Showers will be wintry over high ground across Northern Ireland, and to lower levels across northern Scotland with a slight covering of snow possible in places, mainly above 200 metres."

"Most areas will be dry with sunny spells on Thursday, although theres the risk of some freezing fog patches at first," he said.
"Cloud, outbreaks of rain and hill snow will spread to the northwest by the end of the day, and Friday will see a cloudy day in the south, with some sunshine further north, before the next band of cloud and rain arrives in the northwest later."
He noted that overall rainfall amounts would be lower than recently experienced.
