Wet and windy across northwest and north Scotland. Patchy drizzle in the south but elsewhere often cloudy and dry after fog and low cloud slowly lifts. Mild for many though nearer normal through the central swathe of the UK.
Tonight:
Breezy and cloudy for many with rain continuing in the northwest. Some drizzle in the south with best shelter east England where chilly.
Wednesday:
Light rain over Northern Ireland, southwest Scotland and northwest England. Mild here and in south where some drizzle. Clearer weather in north and good breaks to east of high ground.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Rain clearing far north through Thursday, and winds easing. Otherwise largely cloudy with light winds and mostly dry. Patchy mist and fog for some overnight. Generally mild throughout.
