A Tui plane has skidded off the runway at Leeds Bradford Airport as Storm Babet causes havoc across the country.
All flights have been delayed from Leeds Bradford Airport until further notice, while roads have been shut across the country due to flooding, with national rail also warning of severe delays on services.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Britons are being evacuated from their homes after torrential rain left many properties underwater.
More than 27,000 homes in Scotland lost power due to Storm Babet, according to Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), and many in areas such as Brechin and Dundee have been urged to find new accommodation.

There are even warnings that some people being moved out due to floods may not be back in their homes by Christmas.
With the majority of the UK subject to Met Office weather warnings, some public places have been shut their doors as a precaution.
A spokesperson for Sunderland University said it had closed its St Peter’s campus due to the weather and would not be reopened until Moday.

Ahead of Storm Babet, the Met Office issued a rare red warning.
Other amber and yellow warnings were in place across the country.
“Eastern parts of Scotland will see exceptional amounts of rainfall over the next few days and the significant accumulations are likely to cause considerable impacts from Storm Babet,” Met Office Chief Meteorologist Jason Kelly said
“Numerous Amber and Yellow rainfall warnings are in place for rainfall over the coming days, up-to and including Saturday, but in the red-warning area 100-150mm of rain is expected to fall quite widely, with some locations possibly seeing 200-220mm, which is expected to cause considerable impacts with flooding likely.”

According to the national weather forecaster, the red warning in Angus and Aberdeenshire will last until midnight on Sunday.
The latest update extends the previous red warning which was expected to end at midday on Friday.
“Prolonged and very heavy rain is expected to develop across parts of Angus and Aberdeenshire area throughout Saturday, in areas already affected by severe flooding,” the met office warned.
“Accumulations of 70 to 100 mm are expected over a period of 18 to 24 hours, the highest accumulations over the hills.
“Less rainfall is expected around coastal areas, but impacts from the higher rainfall further west will extend towards the coast.”

The latest from Storm Babet comes after three people have been confirmed dead due to the treacherous conditions.
Yesterday, it was confirmed that the body of a 57-year-old woman, who is yet to be identified, was recovered from a river in Angus.
“Around 1.45pm on Thursday October 19, officers attended a report of a person having been swept into the Water of Lee, Glen Esk,” a spokesperson for Police Scotland said.
“Around 4pm, the body of a 57-year-old woman was recovered from the river.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Today, Scotland Police sadly confirmed another person had died after their van was hit by a falling tree.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.05pm on Thursday, 19 October, 2023, police received a report of a one-vehicle crash in which a tree struck a van on the B9127 at Whigstreet near Forfar.
“Emergency services attended, however, the 56-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Next of kin have been informed and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. The road remains closed.”
A man in his 60s has also died after being caught in fast-moving floods in Shropshire.
