A yellow weather warning has been issued for ‘freezing fog’ across the UK over the weekend.
Met Office forecasters have warned that freezing fog is expected to lead to some travel delays from 2am on Friday until 11am on Saturday morning.
Freezing fog is tiny, supercooled liquid water droplets in fog which freeze instantly when they touch surfaces such as the pavement, road or car.

The warning covers much of England and Wales with the alert spreading across East and West Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber, London and South East England, South West England and Wales.
Motorists are advised to avoid travel if possible as the fog is expected to be quite dense with the visibility falling below 100 metres at times.
Weather forecasters have also warned about delays to trains and buses with severe disruption expected when visibility falls below 50 metres.
The Met Office advises to avoid travelling in the fog if possible, but if motorists do decide to travel, it is recommended that they drive very slowly with dipped headlights as full-beam lights reflect off the fog causing a 'white wall' effect.
A spokesperson said: "Freezing fog is expected to develop during Friday night and will be slow to clear in places through Saturday morning. Some fog could be quite dense with the visibility falling below 100 metres at times.

"Additionally, freezing fog may lead to some untreated surfaces becoming slippery. Western England is more likely to see freezing fog persist into late morning and in a few places into the afternoon."
There is also a chance of flight cancellations and delays.
