The popular holiday destination has cemented its position as Britain's top staycation choice for 2025

Cornwall has emerged as the UK's most sought-after staycation destination for 2025, according to new research.

The coastal county topped the rankings with an impressive score of 76.3, leading the list of trending UK holiday spots, which includes London and Wales in second and third place respectively.



The study, by holiday provider Parkdean Resorts, analysed holiday-related Google searches, Instagram hashtags and TikTok engagement to determine the rankings.

Each destination was then scored based on these digital engagement metrics.

Cornwall's dominance was backed by nearly one million monthly Google searches for holiday-related content.

The county's popularity is driven by its diverse attractions, including the renowned Eden Project and Newquay Zoo.

Cornwall also boasts golden beaches and a scenic coastline perfect for both relaxation and adventure.

TikTok user @jlttexplores recently shared their experience of Pedn Vounder Beach, describing it as the "most beautiful beach" they had ever visited in Britain.

According to Visit Cornwall, the region offers numerous activities for visitors to enjoy, with water sports enthusiasts, history buffs and garden lovers well-catered for in the area.

Visitors can also relax on sandy beaches, enjoy family attractions or join guided tours exploring Cornwall's hidden gems.

London secured second place in the rankings with a score of 39.4, confirming its continued appeal for domestic tourism.

The capital city particularly excelled in social media engagement, generating over 13 million views across its top TikTok hashtags.

Iconic landmarks including Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and St Paul's Cathedral make London an attractive choice for those seeking a culture-rich staycation experience.

Wales claimed the third spot in the rankings, attracting 590,580 monthly holiday-related searches.

The country's stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage have made it particularly appealing for nature enthusiasts.

Trecco Bay emerged as a standout seaside destination within Wales, offering family-friendly activities and coastal attractions.

With a total score of 33.3, Wales continues to strengthen its position as a prime staycation choice for UK holidaymakers.
