Moving abroad can be exciting but research has found why some places are better than others for British expats

The survey found the worst places to move to as a British expat.

This was based on factors such as Quality of Life, Ease of Settling In and Working Abroad.


Expat Essentials and Finances were also taken as something to consider.

A number of European destinations were on the list.

Kuwait ranked as the worst based on the factors in the Expat Insider 2023 survey.

It came last globally for Quality of Life and 49 per cent said they felt they could not express themselves.

The affordability, availability and quality of healthcare also ranked low globally.

Türkiye made the list because of dissatisfaction with work.

Expats felt bad about their working hours, job security and career opportunities.

A British expat added: "I don't like the bureaucracy. There is red tape everywhere you turn."

Italy was one of the European destinations that made the list, however, it was recently found as one of the cheapest places for expats to move to.

Expats can take advantage of the €1 home scheme and enjoy the stunning scenery of the country.

The survey found foreign expats were most excited to move to the UK for the job prospects.
