The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has issued fresh travel guidance for Moldova following the country's declaration of an energy state of emergency.
The updated advice comes as Moldova faces potential managed power blackouts after gas supplies were cut off on January 1, 2025.
The Moldovan government announced its "energy state of emergency" on December 16, 2024.

Britons were told: "FCDO advises against all travel to Transnistria. There is widespread military activity in Ukraine, including close to some Moldovan borders. Transnistria is outside the control of the Moldovan government.
"FCDO’s ability to offer support is extremely limited and will be more limited if there is military action on or near the Moldova-Ukraine border."
