Britons making a visit to Kenya have been issued an important travel warning

Britons heading to a popular African holiday destination could see their plans thrown into disarray due to strike action.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development (FCDO) added new information about a disruption at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport that is affecting flights and access to and from the airport.

Kenya is home to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, beachy Lamu Island, stunning Fourteen Falls waterfall and incredible Mount Kenya.

But Britons visiting the beautiful country must be aware of current disruptions.

The FCDO told holidaymakers: "There is disruption at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, due to ongoing strike action, that is affecting flights and access to and from the airport.

"Passengers are advised to check with their airline for flight information."

Britons were recently given an Africa travel warning as they face serious health risks.

Holidaymakers visiting Kenya should consult the FCDO for essential health information.

The FCDO advised: "At least eight weeks before your trip, check the latest vaccine recommendations for Kenya.

"See where to get vaccines and whether you have to pay on the NHS travel vaccinations page.

"See what health risks you’ll face in Kenya, including malaria and dengue, Zika virus, schistosomiasis and mpox. Altitude sickness is a risk in parts of Kenya."

Holidaymakers in Kenya are advised to consult TravelHealthPro for information on vaccine recommendations, malaria and other risks, Covid, health news and outbreaks.
