Britons have been given a travel update for Nigeria. Without the correct passport validity requirements, holidaymakers will be denied entry into the West African country.
Holidaymakers flock to Nigeria to relax on beautiful beaches, sample delicious cuisine and enjoy enchanting landscapes from rivers to mountains to rainforests - not to mention attend Calabar Carnival, Africa's Biggest Street Party.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) told Britons: "To enter Nigeria, your passport must have an expiry date at least six months after the date you arrive.
"Check with your travel provider that your passport and other travel documents meet requirements. Renew your passport if you need to.
"You will be denied entry if you do not have a valid travel document or try to use a passport that has been reported lost or stolen."

The FCDO told Britons: "You must renew your passport before you can travel if either your passport has expired or you do not have enough time left on it.
How much time you need on your passport depends on the country you’re visiting. Check the entry requirements of the country you want to travel to.
"There are different rules if your passport is lost, stolen or damaged or you need to change your name or personal details.
"If your passport is burgundy or has 'European Union' on the cover, you can still use it as long as it’s valid for travel.
"To renew your passport you’ll need your old passport and any valid passports you have from a different country - send either a colour photocopy of every page (including blank ones) or the physical passport."
Britons can renew their passports online or using a paper application form.
Renewing a passport online costs £88.50. Britons will need a digital photo, a credit or debit card and their passport. The service is also available in Welsh (Cymraeg).
Renewing a passport using a paper application form costs £100. Britons can do this by going to a Post Office that has a Check and Send service, or by calling the Passport Adviceline.
It is payable by debit or credit card - fill in the form in the application pack - or a cheque, made payable to 'HM Passport Office'. You will need two new and identical printed photos of yourself.
As for unexpired visas, Britons were advised: "Send your previous passport with the visa attached to it with your application. Your previous passport will be returned to you. You’ll be able to use the visa if you carry both passports." Britons were warned, however, that the rules are different if you’re travelling to Russia.
