According to Discovering Britain, Lud's Church is around 17 metres deep and 100 metres long.
It said: "Spend a few minutes simply taking in the atmosphere of this incredible place; the mossy walls, the clumps of fern, the absence of direct sunlight. There are hidden niches and side aisles too, so have a good explore."
The picturesque walk is located just 30 miles south of Manchester and is one of the Peak District's most stunning areas.
Visit Peak District said: "You could spend forever studying every nook and cranny, each as unique as the other."
The walk, which is just over three miles in length, takes around two hours to complete.
Let's Go Peak District said: "It's possible for explorers to venture inside and walk the length of the chasm.
"Inside is green as far as the eye can see. The walls are covered with dripping mosses, ferns and grasses, and arching above the chasm, forming a natural roof, are trees that have grown from both sides to meet in the middle."
The main expense of the walk is parking as most people park a mile away in Gradbach, but walkers are encouraged to get there quickly as the car park has a small capacity.

PAA user on Tripadvisor, who has been on the walk before said: "You'll walk down some fairly steep rocks to the entrance of the gorge and you would be crazy not to be open-mouthed with amazement.
"Whilst the trail is fairly accessible, you will need good walking boots or other sensible footwear. Sandals and sliders are not appropriate and will likely lead to injury."
The user recommended keeping to the left on your walk as you will do a full circle of the gorge and back, which is one of the best ways to see all the beauty of the landscape.
