Britons can take advantage of new routes to Iceland from the UK
Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have launched their largest-ever winter programme to Iceland for the 2024/25 season.
The inaugural flights for the season took off today, October 2 from Leeds Bradford and Newcastle International airports, with services from Birmingham and Manchester set to begin the following day.
This expanded programme represents over 30,000 seats on sale, marking a 13 per cent increase in capacity compared to the previous winter. The initiative offers customers and independent travel agents greater choice and flexibility when planning trips to this Nordic destination.
Birmingham Airport
The expanded programme at Birmingham Airport includes a longer season to Iceland, with services now available in December and from the end of January for the first time. This extension comes in direct response to customer and travel agent demand.

Scheduled flights will operate on Mondays and Thursdays from October 3 to December 9, 2024, and then resume from January 30 to April 28, 2025. This significant expansion offers travellers more opportunities to experience Iceland's winter wonders, including the possibility of witnessing the Northern Lights.
Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport's programme mirrors Birmingham's expansion, offering a longer season with services in December and from late January. This enhancement provides more options for travellers from the North West.
Scheduled flights will operate on Mondays and Thursdays from October 3 to December 9, 2024, and then resume from January 30 to April 28, 2025. The extended season allows for more flexibility in planning winter getaways to Iceland.
This expansion at Manchester Airport is part of Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks' strategy to meet growing demand for Iceland as a winter destination, offering customers more opportunities to experience the country's unique attractions.
Other UK Airports
Leeds Bradford and Newcastle International Airports kicked off the season with flights on October 2. They will operate Wednesday and Sunday services until November 3, 2024, resuming from February 12 to March 30, 2025.
Bristol and London Stansted will see expanded programmes with twice-weekly services in April 2025.
Glasgow and East Midlands Airports offer flights from November 6 to 24, 2024.
Belfast International and Edinburgh Airports feature dedicated trips in February 2025.
This diverse range of options from 10 UK airport bases ensures widespread access to Iceland's winter attractions for travellers across the country.

Jet2 has updated its schedule for winter 2024/2025
