Travel warning for France as holidaymakers won't be able to visit some parts of the country this summer

France is a beautiful destination for any holidaymaker to visit and it is sure to be extremely busy this summer as Paris hosts the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Those travelling to the country have been given updated advice as disruptions are likely.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) warned those in Paris that they need a pass to get to some parts of the city.
This will apply whether holidaymakers are attending the Olympic Games - which begin on July 26 - or not.

The FCDO said: "From Thursday 18 July until Friday 26 July, you will need a digital pass to travel to some areas of Paris because of preparations for the Olympic opening ceremony.
"Different rules will apply depending on whether you are travelling on foot, by bike, or by car or another vehicle.
"Check the French government website for up-to-date information about these travel restrictions, including, guidance on how to apply for your digital pass and details on which areas of Paris will be affected."
The 2024 Olympic Games will take place between 26 July and 11 August and the 2024 Paralympic Games between 28 August and 8 September in France, which means travel will be particularly busy during these periods.
Britons in France have been advised to allow plenty of time when travelling around the country, specifically if in Paris or if planning to attend the Games.
The FCO added: "Transport routes around Paris and other venues will be busy during the Olympics and Paralympics. Airports and mainline train stations will also be busier than usual.
"Local authorities may ask you to enter or leave venues using specific routes. Make sure you plan your journey and leave plenty of time to reach your destination.
"More information on travel in Paris, and other locations in France during the Games, is available, in English, on the Paris Tourist Board and Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) websites."
Holidaymakers have been warned if travelling to various European hotspots in the coming weeks.

PAThose in Spain, Greece and more have been urged to be careful in the hot weather as temperatures are set to soar above 40ºC in the coming days.
This week, a spokesperson for AEMET said: “Today is forecast to be the hottest day of this heat episode, with temperatures that could exceed 40ºC in the large areas in the southern half of Spain, in the Ebro valley and in the interior of Mallorca.
“Today, the skies will remain full of sand from the Sahara, especially in the south-east of the peninsula, in Ceuta, Melilla, the Balearics, and the eastern Canaries.”
