For Britons thinking of starting a new life abroad, Spain has remained a popular choice for many years.
Its warm weather, beautiful beaches, delicious cuisine, lower cost of living and relaxed pace of life make it an enticing destination.
However, no place is perfect and Britons may find that a life in Spain does have its drawbacks. In fact, some expats don't end up staying.
Stuart from Spain Speaks revealed that although he loves his life in Spain, he has found locals to be increasingly unwelcoming.
'A lot of people here are just not that friendly'

In a YouTube video about "why moving to Spain might not be for you", Stuart claimed: "A lot of people here are just not that friendly."
He explained that the Spanish have an expression, ir a su bola, meaning "to do your own thing".
According to the expat, many locals uphold this view and consequently, "don't give a stuff about anybody else".
Stuart proposed that this may have something to do with where he lives - Madrid - and the fact it is a "big city".
"Of course, when you live in a big city, people have big city values and they don't really care about other people," he said.
Remembering that locals used to "say hello" and now don't, he wondered whether the change was down to the pandemic.
The expat acknowledged that those in smaller towns may not have the same experience as him though, as these residents could be more "friendly".
"But here, where I live on the outskirts of Madrid with around 100,000 people, it's gotten worse over the years," Stuart shared.

He claimed that in supermarkets, bars and restaurants, he has experienced "unhelpful" and "unfriendly" staff in recent years.
He said: "I always thought that the first role of business was to put the customer first, but unfortunately, this seems to be lacking nowadays here in Spain."
A second expat in Madrid pointed to a major cultural difference between the UK and Spain, explaining why you shouldn't invite friends to your house.
