One of the main problems in Italy is the bureaucracy, with the process of getting resident documents taking a very long time.
Gregor explained: "Picture the 1980s in terms of technology and efficiency. Old office buildings with drab furniture inside and a bunch of grumpy-looking individuals standing in line for paperwork. It's miserable.
"You will become very familiar with the word Questura. Questura is the special Italian police headquarters, that primarily occupies itself with immigrants and paperwork."
The expat said he spent many hours in the local Questura, standing in line with his paperwork waiting to be seen.
The cost of living is increasing across Italy, with a noticeable rise in pricing across "tourist areas like Rome and Florence where the cost of rent is going up".
The content creator said: "We have Airbnbs and we have so many people that want to come and visit.
"I don't blame them, it is a lovely place but you may find your Italian dream might be a little bit more costly than you expected."
