'I came to Cyprus for 2 weeks and ended up staying for 10 years!' Expat shares the appeal of moving abroad

She said: "I came to Cyprus for two weeks and ended up staying for 10 years. Once you move here, your lifestyle becomes very healthy."

The expat said there are many benefits to moving to Cyprus with one of them being the beautiful weather.

She said: "The reasons why it was so easy for me to relocate to Cyprus, I think number one is the weather. It is beautiful.

"Just this morning I swam in the sea and you cannot compare this to anything else. We have the Mediterranean Sea and we have beautiful weather."

Vaida said that people's lifestyles improve and they feel encouraged to be physically active.

"Once you move here, your lifestyle becomes very healthy. I mean walking, hiking, running, cycling, I mean you name it," said the expat. She added: "Professional athletes preparing for competition come to Cyprus to prepare for it."

The communities around Cyprus are very welcoming and the expat felt she fitted right in when moving there.

She said: "Cyprus in itself is a very multicultural island. People in Cyprus are very welcoming. All the expat communities are very open to getting to know each other and we become very close."

Safety is a number one priority for lots of people before moving abroad and the expat emphasised that you feel very safe when in Cyprus.

She explained: "Safety, I think considering the whole turbulences around the world, safety is a really big priority if you're relocating. You feel safe here."

She encouraged people to move to cities in Cyprus and in particular Limassol with the huge amount of attractions it possesses.

Vaida said: "As an expat, I think it is better to relocate to a city that is very popular among expats which is Limassol.

"This is because expats bring their own brands in terms of education, restaurants and coffee shops so you have a much bigger variety of choices.

"I wouldn't even consider any other location."
