Low-fare carrier easyJet has announced an exciting new summer route from London Gatwick to Salerno’s Amalfi Coast.
The budget carrier will operate its new Gatwick to Salerno route biweekly on Tuesday and Saturday nights, starting July 13.
According to Skyscanner, eager holidaymakers currently have to pay £242 to travel to the Amalfi coast’s nearest airport by plane, with stopovers unavoidable.
As easyJet’s new route comes into operation, however, fares will start from £27.99 per person.

The route will be the first to operate between London and the Amalfi’s Salerno, which was previously a military airport.
It will become easyJet’s 157th destination, with more flights launching from Milan, Berlin and Geneva.
easyJet’s country manager Ali Gayward said: “We are particularly excited to welcome a new destination to our network, with a unique connection from the UK to Salerno’s Amalfi cost airport serving one of the most iconic, scenic parts of Italy from Gatwick.”
The airline announced it will also be relaunching its service between Newcastle and Amerstam, with seats to go on sale imminently.
Flights will start on September 5th and operate year-round on Thursdays and Sundays.
The airline has introduced 12 new routes travelling from the UK to Europe in recent months, covering new regions in Spain, Portugal and Malta.
They are set to come into operation in the summer of 2024 but are already available to book online.
Flights will depart from London Luton, Bristol, Southampton, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Belfast City, Belfast International and Glasgow.

The distances will be covered only once a week, with flight frequency varying for different departure cities.
