Experts have rounded up the best places to visit based on things such as food options and things to do.
Worcestershire in the west midlands took the top spot, according to research by Auto Finance.
The best campsites, the food scene, hidden gems and weather over the past five years were all considered to provide an overall score.

Popular tourist destinations Rutland in the east midlands and Cornwall in the south west followed in second and third place.
Those visiting Worcestershire will not be short of things to do as they can visit Worcester Cathedral, Witley Court & Gardens or Malvern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
"For too long the county has been overshadowed by other regions and destinations, but visitors are finally recognising the county’s tourism offering resulting in increased overnight stays and day visitors," Visit Worcestershire states.
"Worcestershire’s scenic countryside and waterways, cultural heritage, culinary excellence, warm welcome and entertaining family attractions drive visitors from across the UK as well as international visitors.
"Two areas of National Landscapes (previously AONB), Malvern Hills and Bredon Hill, paint the picture for rolling landscapes and breathtaking viewpoints.

Holidaymakers who have visited Malvern Hills have shared their thoughts on Tripadvisor and the area has an impressive rating of 5 out of 5 stars on the review platform.
One said it makes a "brilliant ridge walk" while another said the views are "spectacular".
A third added: "We took a lovely hike up to the top of the hills. We met many photogenic sheep and cows along the way. Great views all around."
