Whether your dream staycation includes historical castles, sandy beaches or outdoor activities, the UK has places to suit all tastes.
Speaking to GB News, a travel expert shared the county they believe is most worth visiting in 2025.
Northumberland has something for everyone, according to travel expert at ASAP Tickets Mercedes Zach.
She said: "Known for its impressive castles, hidden beaches and rugged coastline, Northumberland is the place to go if you want to experience the wild side of England.
Northumberland has beautiful beaches and long coastal walks
GETTY"The first stop on your must-visit list is Hadrian’s Wall - an impressive World Heritage Site and possibly the most significant pile of stones in the UK, spanning 73 miles from coast to coast of northern England, with Northumberland holding the longest stretch of it.
"I suggest biking, hiking, wandering or touring the Roman wall to discover the remains of the forts, towers, turrets and towns that once kept watch over it."
Those looking to combine adventure and history are in luck, as there is plenty to see and explore in the north of England.
Britons looking for a more relaxed holiday, however, can also find peace in the county, the expert continued.
She added: "If you're looking for a more peaceful time in Northumberland, I recommend stopping by the charming little village of Alnmouth to feel the blast of old Britain.
"The colourful houses along the River Aln are probably the first thing everyone notices, but it's beauty doesn't just end there.
"A diverse selection of wildlife can be spotted in the area, and its sand dunes are a great birdwatching spot.
"But if you wander along Alnmouth High Street, you'll find an excellent selection of coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, and gift shops that offer great outing experiences all year round without breaking the bank."
