Staycations became incredibly popular during the Covid pandemic when international travel was essentially non-existent.
But even when restrictions ended, UK holidays remained favourable as they are often more cost-effective and practical than going abroad.
VP of Europe of Luxury Escapes, Nicolaj Munch, spoke exclusively to GB News about the best staycation spot the UK has to offer.
For those thinking of enjoying a holiday near home in 2024, Dorset, a county located in the southwest of England, might be the perfect spot.

Nicolaj said: "The charm of England’s countryside is personified in the coastal region of Dorset, one of the UK’s most incredible staycation hotspots recognised for its spectacular Jurassic Coast, lined with dramatic UNESCO World Heritage-listed cliff faces and rock formations.
"Visitors can expect to stroll along cobblestone streets lined with cosy cottages, backed by rugged landscapes that inspired the works of writer Thomas Hardy."
According to the expert there's something for everyone, whether you're there to eat and drink, explore historical sites or simply have a wander around.
The travel enthusiast said: "Here you'll find a countryside peppered with fairy tale castles, sea-cave bays and pebbled beaches, promising exceptional sightseeing.
"Notable sites include the crumbling Corfe Castle nestled above Dorset's sleepy village and Durdle Door - a renowned 140-million-year-old coastal archway stretching from the golden beach into the glistening bay."
Corfe Castle is an iconic medieval location which promises breathtaking views.
One visitor to the site praised it as a great day out in a post on Tripadvisor. It reads: "We went with a 16 month old, five year old and 15 year old. We all enjoyed it and our little one was adamant she was walking and climbing the steps. It was so lovely! The view driving up we thought wow.
"We parked the car in the car park there (extra charge) and followed the signs to walk over to the castle. A lovely walk with a stream running through. There was so much to do there. They had lots of activities going on."
