A 'beautiful' UK beach with 'fantastic views' named as one of the best in Europe

This is according to TripAdvisor’s 2025 Travellers’ Choice Awards, which takes into account reviews that the beaches received on the platform.

Elafonissi Beach in Crete was voted as the best in Europe. It offers clear waters, and white and pink shades of sand, and it is often called the Caribbean of the Mediterranean.

Beaches in Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy dominated the list, but the UK made it into the top 20.

Weymouth Beach was ranked the 20th best beach in Europe. It is located at the heart of the Jurassic Coastline.

It has an impressive 4.5 out of 5 stars on Tripadvisor and thousands of reviews from excited visitors.

A recent reviewer said: "I love this beach in any weather. It can get busy but never feels crowded. Lovely and clean. The doggy section is clean too thanks to responsible owners. Nice long walks and paddles."
