O2 has teamed up with Microsoft to offer people who rely on its mobile network a game-changing upgrade. Starting now, anyone with an O2 SIM card in their phone can add a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to their monthly Direct Debit, and immediately unlock a £1 discount on their existing phone bill.
Game Pass Ultimate is like Netflix for video games, offering a rotating catalogue of titles that you can access as long as your subscription remains active. These games can be downloaded or streamed to a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, PCs, and consoles, like the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.

If you rely on the O2 network, you can purchase Game Pass Ultimate via the O2 Extras offer page in the MyO2 app, or online account. The £14.99 subscription charge will appear on your monthly bill from O2.
New customers can add Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as a paid Extra when completing an order online, in-store, or over the phone. As highlighted above, the latest partnership between Xbox and O2 will unlock a £1 discount off your airtime bill every month, resulting in a nifty £12 saving over the course of an entire year.
There is a minimum sign-up period of six months, but the £1 monthly discount will continue for as long as you keep the paid Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Extra.
Game Pass Ultimate is the newest addition to O2 Extra's catalogue, which includes other subscriptions like Disney+ from £4.99 per month and Prime for £8.99 per month with a £2 discount.
O2 customers can also enjoy exclusive gaming experiences at the Virgin Media Gamepad, a specialist area inside The O2, London. This dedicated gaming space is equipped with 16 gaming pods and Xbox Series X consoles that anyone can use for free. O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers get an extra perk – they can exclusively book the VIP gaming lounge, dubbed The Cave, for free via the Priority app.
If the partnership with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate sounds familiar, it's likely because EE already offers the subscription to its customers. The long-standing collaboration between EE and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can be traced back to January 2021, when the BT-owned network launched a promotion offering 12 months of Game Pass and a Razer Kishi controller to customers buying select Samsung 5G phones.

In April 2023, EE and Microsoft expanded their collaboration with a 10-year deal to enhance cloud gaming access, including titles from Activision Blizzard. EE also offers Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as an Inclusive Extra on eligible mobile plans — allowing customers to enjoy a vast catalogue of games at no extra cost.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is also included as a perk with select full-fibre broadband plans too. At the moment, EE is offering £0 broadband bills for the first three months of new contracts. If you're stuck in an existing contract and can't switch providers to EE... the company will cover up to £300 in early exit fees.
