Tens of thousands of social media users were left frustrated as Reddit experienced significant outages on Thursday.
Nearly 35,000 Reddit users were affected by the disruption, monitoring site Downdetector.com has claimed.
The problems were not just limited to Reddit alone, with almost 16,000 users of Elon Musk's platform X also reporting issues.
The simultaneous outages of two major social platforms left many users scrambling for alternatives during their downtime.

Those attempting to log in to Reddit were met with a message stating: "This page isn't working right now."
The problems varied in nature, with 47 percent of users reporting issues with the Reddit app.
Another 42 percent experienced problems with the website itself.
Server connection issues affected the remaining 11 percent of users.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:Reddit acknowledged the disruption in an online update, stating that the issues were affecting its infrastructure and that it was investigating the cause.
According to Downdetector.com, the majority of problems were reported by users on the west coast of the United States.
Los Angeles and San Francisco, where Reddit is headquartered, saw the highest concentration of reported outages.
Many disruptions were also reported in New York.

Reddit's technical teams continued to work on resolving the infrastructure issues throughout the afternoon.
Many users took to social media to express their frustration, though some found humour in the situation.
One user lamented: "How will I find the answers to all my niche questions now?"
However, another person commented: "Reddit is down? Time to go outside and remember what sunlight feels like."
