All-new GoPro HERO weighs less than a bag of Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons
GoPro has unveiled its smallest, lightest, and cheapest 4K action camera yet.
Dubbed the GoPro HERO, this entry-level action camera starts from just £199. Despite this affordable price tag, it's still capable of many of the tricks you'd associate with pricier GoPro cameras, including 4K stabilised video recording, slow-motion, 12MP still photographs, and it's waterproof to five-metres without a case.
Alongside this affordable new entry into the line-up, the Californian brand announced the flagship HERO13 Black. Priced at £399.99, it boasts top-of-the-line features like 5.3K video recording at 60 frames per second and GoPro's HyperSmooth stabilisation, which was awarded an Emmy.
GoPro has also equipped this camera with faster Wi-Fi 6, which will improve performance for those who live-stream or back-up wirelessly to the cloud.
GoPro HERO 13 Black has a large touchscreen on the back, with a smaller screen for live previews on the front of the action camera. New for the 13 Black, GoPro has added magnetic attachments, wireless charging, speedier Wi-Fi 6 transfers, and built-in GPS

Speaking about the two new camera announcements, GoPro Founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman said: "This year’s two new GoPro cameras are inspired by and built for the GoPro Community.
"HERO13 Black features four new interchangeable lens mods that HERO 13 automatically detects and adjusts its settings for, magnetic latch mounting, GPS, and a more powerful battery that provides longer runtimes and improved thermal performance.
"And then there’s HERO, the smallest, lightest 4K GoPro ever with a screen that will appeal to new and experienced users with its rugged, ultralight design and impressive 4K image quality."
Both GoPro cameras are available to preorder now, with the HERO13 Black shipping on September 10, and the GoPro HERO from September 22, 2024. With new cameras on the way, GoPro has dropped the cost of last year's GoPro HERO 12 Black to £349.99.
