Galaxy Z Fold 6 leak reveals all-new design ahead of rumoured Samsung launch this summer

Could this be our first glimpse at the as-yet unannounced successor to Galaxy Z Fold 5?
If you want the next foldable phone from Samsung to be a surprise — look away now! Reliable tipster OnLeaks teamed up with SmartPrix to publish several high-resolution renders that purportedly reveal the design of the incoming Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The unofficial images showcase a much boxier, squared-off design than Galaxy Z Fold 5, which launched in July 2023 and is still available to buy online and in high street stores across the UK.
Of course, there’s no way of knowing whether these high-resolution renders are accurate until Samsung Galaxy boss TM Roh walks on stage at the next Galaxy Unpacked keynote to reveal the foldable handset.
However, OnLeaks has a respectable track record when it comes to leaks.
The angular design revealed in these renders is reminiscent of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which launched last month with the same flat edges and boxy appearance. It makes sense for there to be consistency in the design language across the latest devices from Samsung, lending further credibility to the leaks published by OnLeaks.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a more angular design than its predecessor, bringing it in line with the recent Galaxy S24 Ultra, a new leak has claimed

According to the tipster, the screen size on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will remain unchanged from its predecessor — that means we’re expecting to see a 7.6-inch folding touchscreen that unfurls like a paperback, with a 6.2-inch display on the outside to check directions, play songs, answer calls and text messages without the need to always open the tablet-like inner screen.
Samsung looks set to stick with the same rough layout of the speaker grill, SIM card tray, volume controls, power button, USB-C port, and microphones

Samsung will trim the borders around the AMOLED panels though, the rumours suggest, allowing it to shrink the overall footprint of the foldable handset slightly this time around. OnLeaks says the dimensions will be 153.5 x 132.5 x 6.1mm.
Elsewhere, the renders reveal a pretty similar design for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 — a triple-camera array on the back, three microphones placed around the phone for clearer calls in noisy environments, USB-C port to charge and sync the foldable phone with a PC. Volume controls and power button can be spotted on the rightside, with a SIM card slot on the left.
Like the Galaxy Z Fold 5, there’s no slot to store an S Pen stylus in the case. Samsung got around this issue last time with a protective case that housed the next-generation digital pen, so we’d expect to see a similar solution this year too. MicroSD to expand storage is also not supported.
Whispers from the supply chain suggest Samsung will turn to the latest silicon from US manufacturer Qualcomm to power its new foldable. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is already tucked inside the Galaxy S24 in some markets, so that seems likely we’ll see the chipset reappear in the foldable line-up.
Samsung will offer a choice between 12- or 16GB of RAM, with up to 1TB of storage, OnLeaks says.
The South Korean brand hasn’t announced when it’ll hold its next Galaxy Unpacked keynote. However, updates to the Galaxy Z range were unveiled in July last year in the firm's hometown of Seoul, so it’s possible we’ll see the next entry announced around the same time.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Alongside a refreshed Galaxy Z Fold 6, we expect to see a similarly-redesigned Galaxy Z Flip 6 and, following weeks of teasing its potential, the Galaxy Ring health-tracking wearable too. Wireless earbuds and tablets could round out the announcements at the next Galaxy Unpacked event.
As always, these are only rumours for the moment, so take everything with the prescribed pinch of salt. We’ll keep you updated with the latest whispers from inside Samsung over the coming months.
