Struggling to find something new to watch?

Fire TV Stick and Roku device owners can unlock access to 100,000 movies and TV shows from some of the biggest Hollywood studios, including Lionsgate, Warners Bros, Paramount, and Sony, to name just a few. It's all thanks to a little-known service called Fawesome, which is available on iPhone, Android, Fire TV, and Roku.

There's no subscription fee for Fawesome as it's one of a growing number of Free Advertising Supported Streaming Television (FAST) services.

These have become increasingly popular as cash-strapped telly fans look to save on subscription fees. Research from Omdia found that 21% of UK video viewers watched FAST channels once a week, following in the footsteps of the United States of America (46%) and Brazil (36%).

There's plenty of choice when it comes to FAST TV services on the most popular streaming devices.

Samsung Smart TVs have shipped with its free ad-supported TV Plus service since 2015, Amazon introduced Freevee as a free-to-watch alternative to Prime Video (which introduced adverts for paid subscribers earlier this year, leading to frustrated viewers launching a lawsuit against the US company), and Roku broadcasts on The Roku Channelwith no subscription fee required.

Unlike many of these services, Fawesome does not require viewers to set-up an account or sign-in. And while TV Plus from Samsung is able to reach 535 million devices across TV and mobile, Fawesome is much smaller, with just 500,000 downloads from the Google Play Store.

In comparison, Roku's app — which is required to watch The Roku Channel on the move — has over 50 million downloads from the same digital storefront. Freevee has over 10 million.

With the application installed on your Fire TV Stick or Roku TV, you can jump straight into a blockbuster film, award-winning documentary, or must-watch series with a single click. That's it.

Fawesome, which has been arouds since 2017, has a packed library to stream, including Lion, HellBoy, The Piano, The Saint, House Of Sand And Fog, RoboCop, Baywatch, Cloverfield, The Imposter, Crackerjack, The Ninth Gate, and Meet My Valentine, amongst others.

Earlier this year, Future Today — the parent company behind Fawesome — announced plans to expand into original programing for the first time. Future Today co-founder Vikrant Mathur said: "Since our inception we have successfully delivered some of the top content to streaming families. Now with originals, we embark on the next chapter in our company’s growth.

"With the increase of subscription video-on-demand fatigue, these projects will expand our portfolio of quality content and give consumers original programming they desire at a price they love — free.

"Our new shows and movies are just the start. We aim to bring more original content to Fawesome viewers in the future!"

Fawesome promises that it updates its catalogue of shows and films every week.

You can browse through these titles by genre, with the free streamer separating everything into 25 genres. You can pause and resume playback across devices, so you'll be able to watch on your iPhone on the commute home, then finish the film from the comfort of your sofa on a Fire TV Stick on the big screen.

Watching on-demand boxsets and movies via an ad-supported streamer like Fawesome, The Roku Channel, Freevee, or any other FAST TV service is always a better option than looking to so-called "Fully Loaded" Fire TV Sticks.

These offer unlimited access to movies, sports coverage, and TV series from Sky TV and other paid-for broadcasters by breaking copyright law. UK law enforcement have previously warned to "expect a knock at the door".

Earlier this month, police shut down an illegal Fire TV Stick operation that offered access to everything on Sky TV for a fraction of the cost. The man at the heart of the operation, Kevin James O’Donnell, was handed a two-year suspended sentence for promoting and selling illegally modified Amazon Fire TV Sticks.
