Looking to swap the smartphone in your pocket for something new? British technology brand Nothing just unveiled its new device — CMF Phone 2 Pro — with some clever customisation and an accessible price point.
Starting from £219, CMF Phone 2 Pro is the second-generation smartphone in Nothing's more affordable CMF lineup. CMF is a common term in industrial design that refers to Colour, Material, and Finish.

The London-based team behind the CMF Phone 2 Pro has already secured a gong from the Red Dot Design Awards for its previous efforts. Measuring just 7.8mm and tipping the scales at 185g, this latest effort is the slimmest and lightest smartphone ever launched by the team at Nothing.
The design of the rear case varies slightly based on the colourway you've picked, with the White variant offering a distinctive two-tone finish with a textured sandstone panel

The rear shell is plastic, with an aluminium to secure the camera lens — an upgrade compared to the first-generation handset, and stainless steel screws to highlight the design and craft behind the design. And it's not just about looks, the team at Nothing has improved the durability with IP54 water and dust resistance, which means the handset can withstand intense water spray but not submersion.
The new handset ships in four colourways: White, Black, Orange, and Light Green.
Black and Light Green models boast a frosted glass-like texture on the rear panel, while White offers a rougher, sandstone finish and Orange provides a bold metallic sheen.

Flip over the CMF Phone 2 Pro, and you'll find a triple-camera system, headlined by a 50MP main shooter with the largest sensor size in its class capable of capturing 64% more light than CMF Phone 1.
For faraway scenes, the powerful 50MP telephoto lens uses six stacked lenses to digitally zoom onto your subject 20x. According to Nothing, its £219 smartphone is the only one with a telephoto sensor in this segment.
Finally, there's a the 8MP ultra-wide camera provides an expansive field of view, perfect for everything from landscapes to skylines, while the front of the handset boasts a 16MP for sharp selfies and video calls.
When it comes to camera settings, you'll find all of the usual trimmings from a much pricier handset built-into the CMF Phone 2 Pro, including Night Mode, Portrait Mode for a DSLR-style blur behind your subject, slow-motion video at 120 frames-per-second, Time Lapse, and iPhone-esque Motion Photos.
CMF Phone 2 Pro is powered by the same instantly-recognisable twist on Android as the mainline Nothing handsets, dubbed NothingOS

Like the Phone 3a released by Nothing earlier this year for £329, the CMF Phone 2 Pro ships with NothingOS 3.1 preinstalled, which is based on Android 15. That means it includes many of the new featured developed by Google for this major upgrade — all wrapped up in the distinctive Nothing OS design.
You can personalise the appearance of NothingOS with a new monochromatic theme, with the choice to hide labels beneath app icons for a cleaner home screen. Nothing has refreshed several of its preinstalled applications, like Gallery, Camera and Weather.
NothingOS 3.1 introduces the Essential Space, a new AI-powered scrapbook for your notes, voice memors, ideas and screenshots. It's accessed via a double-press of a new button on the side of the handset, dubbed Essential Key.
Press and hold on the Essential Key to capture a screenshot and attach a few notes or voice memo in this new "second memory" space baked into NothingOS 3.1
NOTHING PRESS OFFICEA long press will save a screenshot, with the ability to attach a note, scribble or voice memo. Everything saved into the Essential Space is analysed by Artificial Intelligence, which makes intelligent suggestions for further actions, like adding an event mentioned in a voice memo to your calendar.
Nothing describes the feature as "your second memory".
Like its predecessor, CMF Phone 2 Pro is the modular design. You can swap-out a series of interchangeable accessories, including a Fisheye and Macro camera lenses (£35) to add new dynamics to the camera system, a Wallet that doubles-up as a stand (£35), and a snug, scratch-protective Universal Cover (£25). The mounting system on the CMF Phone 2 Pro still works with the lanyward designed for the first-generation handset.
One of the standout features of the first CMF Phone was its customisation — a trait that survives with its successor, which arrives with a slew of new accessories that can be attached to the rear case

If you're looking to save a bit of money, Nothing offers bundles with slight discounts.
Under the bonnest of the new Android handset, you'll find a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor, which promises 10% faster processing and 5% better graphics performance compared to its predecessor. This system-on-a-chip was designed using TSMC's state-of-the-art 4nm process for game-changing power efficiency.
Coupled with a generous 5,000mAh battery that lasts nearly one hour longer than Phone 1, CMF Phone 2 Pro has been designed to offer two days of use on a single charge.
Starting from £219, CMF Phone 2 Pro arrives with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. If you want to upgrade to the handset with 256GB of built-in storage, you'll need to spend £249.
Alongside the CMF Phone 2 Pro, Nothing has unveiled a trio of new earbuds to suit different budgets and audio needs. First up, the Buds 2a is a new go-to entry-level option that costs just £29 and deliver high-quality audio with a 12.4 mm bio-fibre driver. There's also 42dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) so you can listen at lower volumes even in noisy environments.
When combined with charging case, Nothing says its low-cost CMF Buds 2s boast a total listening time of 35.5 hours before you'll need to reach for the charging cable

Stepping up, the CMF Buds 2 are priced at £39 and offer improved features like 48dB hybrid Active Noise Cancellation as well as support for Spatial Audio formats, which map-out sounds in three-dimensional space around you for more immersive video, podcasts, and music playback.
Finally, CMF Buds 2 Plus are the most expensive new Bluetooth 'buds at £49 and deliver Hi-Res LDAC support, hearing compensation and full EQ customisation for a rich, balanced sound tailored to your hearing profile.
The refreshed lineup from CMF is available to preorder in the UK now, with the CMF Phone 2 Pro, CMF Buds 2, and CMF Buds 2 Plus due to release on May 6, 2025.
