Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ at a glitzy Galaxy Unpacked keynote even on January 17, 2024 in San Jose, California. Both handsets arrive with bigger displays and batteries than last year's Galaxy S23 series. A new processor also keeps everything running smoothly — even with multiple apps side-by-side.
From the outside, the changes to the Galaxy S24 are pretty modest. That's because the headline feature of these new Galaxy S models is Galaxy AI. This encompasses a slew of clever new Artificial Intelligence (AI) tricks that let you manipulate photos by moving the subject, generate new frames to turn any video into slow-motion, translate calls and texts in real-time, rewrite emails and documents to adjust the tone, and much more.
We've got an in-depth breakdown of everything new with the Galaxy S24 and S24+ later in this guide. But if you're ready to place an order, there are some unbelievable Galaxy S24 and S24+ deals available today.
Samsung will bundle a free pair of Galaxy Buds2 Pro wireless earbuds with Galaxy S24 or Galaxy S24+ orders. You'll need to place an order before July 2 or miss out on these free Bluetooth 'buds, worth £159.
There's no need to use a voucher code — the free Bluetooth 'buds will be bundled into your basket as soon as you've chosen the storage configuration, screen size, and case colour of your new Galaxy S24 handset.
For a limited time, Samsung is offering £200 cashback with every Galaxy S24 purchase. After you've bought your new Android phone, file a claim with Samsung on a dedicated cashback portal. You'll receive the £200 payment "within 45 days of your claim being successfully validated," the technology giant has confirmed.
For the biggest discount, Samsung is offering up to £360 off the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ when you trade-in an existing smartphone. The exact discountwill vary based on the make and model of the phone you're looking to trade-in. Samsung will send a freepost package to mail off your phone, and you won't need to put it in the post until your new Galaxy S24 handset has arrived and you've transferred everything over.
All of the above promotions are limited to the Samsung online store.
However, there are a number of other retailers offering some form of cashback on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ series at the moment. High street store Currys is offering a (slightly less generous) £150 cashback on the Galaxy S24 range at the moment, with an additional £75 off when you trade-in an existing handset.
Likewise, Amazon is offering £150 cashback with Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ too. Prime members will benefit from next-day delivery nationwide at no extra cost on Amazon, while Currys and Argos (which also has a £150 cashback promotion running at the moment) offer same-day collection in some areas — both good reasons to shop at these particular stores over Samsung.
Lastly, while the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are available in Cobalt Violet, Amber Yellow, Onyx Black, and Marble Grey from every UK retailer and mobile network, Samsung has reserved an extra three colours as exclusives for its store — Sapphire Blue, Jade Green, and Sandstone Orange.

Best Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ SIM-free deals
If you decide to buy your Galaxy S24 or Galaxy S24+ SIM-free, you’ll be able to pair the handset with any mobile plan, including the SIM card inside your current handset or any new SIM-only deal.
Buying SIM-free offers extra flexibility, but since you're paying for the entire handset outright — it's a more expensive initial outlay. If you're worried about the upfront cost, some retailers do offer interest-free payment plans, which makes this method closer to the affordability of a pay monthly contract.
Several online retailers are already stocking the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.
The RRP for all storage configurations on these new handsets is —
- Samsung Galaxy S24 | £799 for 128GB of storage
- Samsung Galaxy S24 | £859 for 256GB of storage
- Samsung Galaxy S24+ | £999 for 256GB of storage
- Samsung Galaxy S24+ | £1,099 for 512GB of storage
Although the latest Samsung phones are widely available, there are still numerous reasons to pick one store over another. Ordering Galaxy S24 or Galaxy S24+ directly from the Samsung store means you’ll get the choice of three exclusive colourways: Sapphire Blue, Jade Green, and Sandstone Orange.
If you decide to buy your new Samsung phone anywhere else, you’ll only be able to choose between Cobalt Violet, Amber Yellow, Onyx Black, and Marble Grey.
If you buy from John Lewis, you'll benefit from two years of hardware warranty — compared with just one year from other retailers. If you don't insure your phone separately, this could be a good option.
No matter where you decide to preorder, you can claim a one-year subscription to Disney+ from Samsung. Simply redeem the offer from this webpage as soon as you have proof of purchase.

Best Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ pay monthly deals
Buying the latest Samsung phones with a pay monthly deal means you won’t have to shell out as much money upfront – and you could unlock some additional perks. Mobile networks like Vodafone, O2, and Three all offer loyalty schemes with discounted coffees, gig tickets, and cinema tickets.
No matter which deal you decide to sign up for, you’ll benefit from a one-year subscription to Disney+ at no cost. You’ll need to provide proof of purchase to Samsung.
Likewise, if you order before February 27, you'll be able to claim a pair of wireless Galaxy Buds2 Pro and SmartTag 2 worth a combined £253 from this webpage.
For a fair comparison between pay monthly deals, we’ve decided to pit deals with between 20-30GB of 5G mobile data against one another. That’s a decent monthly allowance that means you’ll be able to stream songs and podcasts, get turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps, and make video calls on WhatsApp, without worrying about running out of 5G.
Of course, those who want to binge boxsets from Netflix on the train to work every morning will need more 5G data, while others might be able to save money with a smaller data allowance. But it’s a pretty decent middle-ground that should work for most people.

What’s new with Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+?
Both Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ arrive with slightly bigger screens, bigger batteries, and a slew of clever Artificial Intelligence (AI) features.
The smaller (and most affordable) of the new handsets from Samsung, the Galaxy S24, boasts a 6.2-inch AMOLED screen, which is 0.1-inch larger than the Galaxy S23. It’s powered by a 4,000mAh battery cell, which is 100mAh larger than its predecessor.
Galaxy S24+ has a 6.7-inch display, which is similarly 0.1-inch larger than S23+. Like its smaller sibling, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S24+ with a bigger battery cell, increasing capacity from 4,700mAh to 4,900mAh.
Coupled with the efficiencies of the new chipset powering the Galaxy S24 series, Exynos 2400, Samsung is confident that battery life will endure 25-hours of web browsing and 29-hours of video playback between charges.
Samsung is using an AMOLED display on both Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ with a variable refresh-rate, which ranges from 1Hz to 120Hz, to provide buttery-smooth animations and conserve battery.
There’s a triple-camera system on the back of both S24 and S24+ with a 50-megapixel camera, 10-megapixel telephoto capable of lossless 3x optical zoom, and 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. This combo offers all of the usual photo tricks you’d expect from a top-end phone, including bokeh-style blur for Portrait Mode images and video, slow-motion video capture, panoramas, and much more.
The front-facing camera is a 12-megapixel, which is unchanged from last year.
Samsung will keep the Galaxy S24 and S24+ updated with seven generations of Android upgrades. Since both handsets ship with Android 14 preinstalled, that means Samsung phone owners will benefit from new features included in Android 21 (provided Google sticks with that naming convention and doesn’t go back to puddings) in the early 2030s. Samsung has also pledged seven years of security updates to protect users from hackers and glitches for years to come.
Samsung has squeezed a bigger lithium-ion battery inside the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ which, coupled with the efficiencies of the new Exynos chipset, should result in some impressive gains in battery life

Galaxy AI is the big focus for Samsung with its new phones. The new AI features baked into the Galaxy S24 and S24+ include real-time translation tool for voice calls and texts, a Chat Assist tool to suggest the right tone for messages, and note and transcription tools which can transcribe conversations, translate them and even summarise them into bullet points.
In addition, the S24 range will be among the first devices to utilise Google’s Circle to Search feature, which enables users to circle, highlight or tap on anything on-screen, such as a landmark in a video or a piece of furniture, and do a web search on the point of interest selected.
The feature can be used within any app running on the phone and has so far only been confirmed for launch on the S24 range and Google’s own Pixel 8 smartphones.
Unsurprisingly, AI even makes an appearance in the camera too, with new editing tools available to recompose images, as well as use generative AI to fill in gaps when subjects in photos are moved.
Samsung said many of the AI tools would work on-device rather than via the cloud using an internet connection, meaning they would be accessible even when a user does not have a data connection, and would better protect user data and privacy.
Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are available in a variety of colours, including Cobalt Violet, Amber Yellow, Onyx Black, and Marble Grey. If you order directly from Samsung, you’ll also get the choice of either Sapphire Blue, Jade Green, or Sandstone Orange.
