Apple has launched a brand-new app for iPhone, called Apple Invites. As the name suggests, this free iOS app is designed to help you create and manage invitations for birthdays, family gatherings, and corporate events.
Apple Invites brings together a slew of services from the Cupertino company.
When an event is created, iPhone users can contribute to shared photo albums linked to the occasion or build Apple Music playlists together. Apple Maps is baked into the service to provide turn-by-turn directions and Apple Weather offers forecasts on the day.
You'll need an iCloud+ subscription to create and host events with Apple Invites. Prices start from 99p a month, rising to £8.99 a month for the maxed-out iCloud+ plan with 1TB of cloud storage

The app is free to download, although you'll need a subscription to iCloud+ to create an event and send out invitations. Prices start from 99p a month, which also unlocks 50GB of iCloud storage.
Anyone can RSVP to an event that's been created with Apple Invites, regardless of whether they have an Apple Account or Apple device.
Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple Senior Director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud, said: "With Apple Invites, an event comes to life from the moment the invitation is created, and users can share lasting memories even after they get together. Apple Invites brings together capabilities our users already know and love across iPhone, iCloud, and Apple Music, making it easy to plan special events."
The latest iPhone app could will compete head-to-head with a growing number of iOS apps designed to make organising an event as simple as possible. Facebook used to be the go-to place for people to organise birthdays and social events, but the flurry of alternatives suggests that people have turned away from the social giant.
To get started with Apple Invites, you'll be asked to select an image from your photo library or from the app’s gallery of backgrounds — a curated collection of images representing different occasions and event themes.
If you have an iPhone capable of running Apple Intelligence, you can rely on the built-in Image Playground experience to produce original images using concepts, descriptions, and people from their photo library. When composing invitations, you'll be able to use Writing Tools to find the right turn of phrase to meet the moment.
You can send invitations to anyone — even if they don't have an iPhone or Apple device. They'll still be able to see all details of the upcoming event, browse through photos in the shared album, and more

As the host, Apple ensures you have complete control of the invite experience — you can quickly view and manage the upcoming events, share invitations with a URL link, review RSVPs, and choose the details you'd like included in the preview, such as the event background or home address.

Guests can view and respond to an invitation using the new iPhone app or on the web without needing an iCloud+ subscription or an Apple Account. Attendees control how their details show up to others, and have the ability to leave or report an event at any time.
The app is available to download from the App Store now. You'll need an iPhone model capable of running iOS 18 or later.
