Unlock Kindle Unlimited for months when you switch to a new Kindle
Amazon refreshed every model in its Kindle lineup earlier this month, introducing its first-ever colour e-ink screen, faster page-turns, and brighter backlights for late-night reading. It's an exciting new lineup, but if the new hardware isn't enough to entice you already Amazon has an incredible giveaway up its sleeve.
For a limited time, anyone who upgrades to a new Kindle model will unlock a three-month Kindle Unlimited subscription at no extra cost. Worth £9.49 per month, Kindle Unlimited offers access to millions of fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks, and magazines on your Kindle and across iPhone, iPad, Android and PC.
Progress in books is synched via the cloud, so you can read a few pages on your Kindle, and then pick-up where you left-off on your smartphone if you find yourself with an unexpected wait.

The Kindle Unlimited giveaway is available on all models of the new Kindle lineup, but if you're looking for the most affordable way to upgrade to a new e-reader and enjoy months of free access to Amazon's vast catalogue of digital books, magazines, and audiobooks — look no further than the new entry-level Kindle.
The entry-level Kindle has the most compact design of the lineup, weighing just 158g and with a six-inch black-and-white e-ink touchscreen that makes it easy to hold one-handed or slip into a pocket. That screen boasts an impressive 300 pixels-per-inch glare-free display with faster page turns and higher contrast ratio.
While Kindle connects to Wi-Fi to synch your reading progress across devices and apps and download new books from anywhere in the world, it doesn't support email or messaging services. That means you'll be able to tune-out the ping of incoming texts, e-mails and social media for a distraction-free reading experience.
The front light is 25% brighter at its maximum setting compared to previous models and with 16GB of built-in storage, the device can hold thousands of books. Kindle devices rely on e-ink screen technology, which mimics the appearance of paper, avoids glare in direct sunlight like smartphones and tablets, and offers weeks of battery life on a single charge.
The new Kindle is available from £94.99, with an ad-free version priced at £104.99. Amazon displays advertisements on-screen when you're not using the Kindle to read to help it offer the hardware at a discounted rate. It's possible to pay the additional fee after-the-fact to upgrade to an ad-free experience.
In line with the Seattle retailer's sustainability efforts, the Kindle's packaging is made from an average of 99% wood fibre-based materials sourced from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources.
If you want to upgrade to one of the premium Kindle models, the Paperwhite offers a larger seven-inch glare-free display with 20% faster page turns. It's also water-resistant without the need for a case, so you can read in the bath, pool, or beach without any worry about breaking the e-reader.
Kindle Colorsoft is the first foray into colour e-readers, featuring a 7-inch display that promises "rich, paper-like colour". It utilises an oxide backplane with custom waveforms for improved performance and contrast in both colour and black-and-white content. The device incorporates a new light guide with nitride LEDs, enhancing colour vibrancy without washing out details.
Amazon says you can zoom into images without pixelation, which will be handy for those who want to study maps in books, or individual panels in graphic novels. Kindle Colorsoft — yes, we're stuck with the US spelling here in Blighty — lets you choose between standard or vibrant styles on the e-ink screen. For the first time, you'll be able to make colour highlights to your digital books that can be easily search later.
Elsewhere, Kindle Colorsoft also boasts wireless charging, up to eight weeks of battery life, and a waterproof design — so it can survive a dip in the pool or bath.
It starts from £269.99, making it one of the most expensive Kindle devices on offer, not to mention £70 pricier than competitor Kobo's colour e-reader currently sells for on Amazon.
