Struggling with patchy or slow Wi-Fi at home? Replacing the basic Wi-Fi router send in the post by your broadband provider with a feature-packed new model from eero could be the solution.
Order before 11.59pm tonight (March 31) and you can save up to 36% on these eero Wi-Fi routers.
If you’re a Prime member, or enjoying a 30-day free trial, you’ll take delivery of your new eero tomorrow at no extra cost. These broadband-boosting gadgets will return to a normal price at 00.01am on April 1.
Starting from £69.99, the eero lineup unlocks faster speeds, improves efficiency, and reduces network congestion on your network. Wi-Fi 6 is responsible for many of these improvements. This wireless standard was first introduced back in 2019 and offers an expanded range — so your Wi-Fi network could finally reach every corner of the house — as well as faster speeds and lowers latency for gaming and streaming.
Your devices will need to support Wi-Fi 6 to benefit from the improvements to your network. Brands like Samsung, Google, and Apple have built support for this newer wireless technology into their devices for years, so there's a decent chance many gadgets in your home are ready to benefit from the improved Wi-Fi network.

The Eero 6 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router offering speeds up to 900 Mbps and coverage for homes up to 1,500 square feet. It supports over 75 connected devices and includes a built-in Zigbee smart home hub for seamless integration with compatible smart home gadgets

Even if you still have a few devices that only support the previous standard, like Wi-Fi 5, these gadgets could still see a performance bump, since there will be less congestion as others move over to Wi-Fi 6.
Switching to a router from eero isn't just about unlocking the latest wireless standards. If you own multiple eero routers, they'll work together to create a seamless web of coverage throughout the home
For those who don’t know, mesh networks are found in offices, airports, and train stations across the world. Rather than a single Wi-Fi router, like the one found in your hallway, these rely on multiple smaller nodes.

In this set-up, the routers communicate with one another to boost signal — eliminating dead zones and ensuring strong signals to all of your devices. As you move around, your devices will be handed off to the closest node — or the one with the least congestion — ensuring you always have the best wireless connection.
Instead of having to stretch wireless signal from a single box, your gadgets will be distributed to the node closest to them (or the one with the fewest number of devices already connected) to almost guarantee full bars of signal.
You don’t need to be living in a Selling Sunset-esque mansion to take advantage of a mesh network.
If you live in a Victorian home with internal brick walls, it can be incredibly difficult for Wi-Fi signal to cross from one room to another. Likewise, if you’ve got a lot of smart devices – from smart thermostats, Sonos speakers, and Wi-Fi enabled lightbulbs – the router sent-out by your broadband supplier can struggle to juggle all of these connections since these will be evenly distributed across the eero with the best signal, avoiding the overloading that can happen with a single Wi-Fi router in the busiest households.
A mesh Wi-Fi network works by placing multiple nodes throughout your home to provide better coverage. It also maintains signal strength through brick walls and outdoors in a garden

Designed for an effortless setup, eero integrates with voice assistants, like Alexa, and offers granular controls for safer browsing. You can also choose to block adverts, pause the internet at specific times — or for individuals in the household, safeguard against malware and pornography, and even launch a standalone Wi-Fi network just for guests that will expire after a few days or hours.
Even the cheapest eero compares pretty favourably to what you'll enjoy from UK broadband suppliers, who have been slow to upgrade their routers to Wi-Fi 6 and newer wireless technologies. There are some that have made good progress — Sky has invested in Wi-Fi 6 in its latest hub, likewise Virgin Media Hub 5 is powered by the same wireless standard.
However, Plusnet and BT — two of the most popular brands — don't offer Wi-Fi 6 speeds in the routers they ship to millions of customers free of charge when they sign up for a new contract.
BT-owned EE is the exception — it became the first nationwide broadband supplier to offer Wi-Fi 7 speeds when it overhauled the design of its broadband router last year. If you want to unlock the same future-proofed wireless connectivity from your next eero device, you'll need to spend at least £419.99 in the Amazon sale. Yes, seriously.
That makes the £10 additional fee that EE charges for some broadband subscribers seem very affordable.
Pay £0 for 3 months of EE's fastest full-fibre broadband and Wi-Fi router
EE became the first nationwide broadband supplier to offer superfast Wi-Fi 7 when it launched its Smart Hub Pro and Smart Wi-Fi Pro kit last year. Available at no extra cost with the fastest full-fibre broadband plans — or an extra £10 a month for everyone else — the Wi-Fi 7 technology offers speeds that are twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6, the previous standard

It's important to note that Amazon’s clever Wi-Fi system doesn’t alter the maximum broadband speed available at your address, that can only be changed by your broadband provider.
But while it can't alter the download speeds available at your address, it can dramatically improve the performance of your Wi-Fi network in a few critical ways. First up, the latest eero kit supports the latest wireless standards, like Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, which offer more throughput and improved wireless speeds.

For comparison, the router sent out to all BT customers, known as the Smart Hub 2, only supports Wi-Fi 5 — so you’ll miss out on the benefits of the newer technologies built into your smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs, games consoles, set-top boxes, and more.
If your address hasn't been upgraded as part of the ongoing works from BT-owned Openreach, then this won't make too much of a difference, since you'll need those faster full-fibre speeds to benefit from the gains in Wi-Fi speed.
Amazon’s eero isn’t the only option when it comes to mesh Wi-Fi systems, with rivals from Netgear, TP-Link, and Linksys also offering Wi-Fi nodes with similar features.
Google also offers a mesh network to rival eero known as Nest Wi-Fi. However, Apple discontinued its range of routers, known as AirPort, back in 2018.
