Emma Raducanu has received a furious backlash after she pulled out of a doubles tournament with tennis legend Andy Murray.
Andy Murray teamed up with Raducanu in a late entry to the mixed doubles and their match was scheduled last on Court One on Saturday.he doubles match was to be Murray's last ever performance and Emma's withdrawal brought his career to an abrupt end.
Speaking about the withdrawal, sports commentator Ben Jacobs said: "Players have to take precautions if they're carrying an injury, but it was also the scheduling and the load of ultimately playing singles and mixed doubles.
"I think Murray would have probably made the same decision if he was building up to a singles match with a chance to reach the quarterfinals versus mixed doubles, and you're worried about your own physique and stamina, then you have to pick one or the other.
"So I do sympathize with Raducanu but I can understand why the British public may be disappointed because they've been denied an Andy Murray farewell."
