Fans attending Wimbledon today will have a decision to make when England's Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland gets underway.

Wimbledon will not be showing England's Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland today on any of the TV screens around the ground.

Saturday represents a huge day of sport in England with the British Grand Prix qualifying taking place in the afternoon before England's match againt Switzerland.

All the while, Wimbledon has a jam-packed schedule featuring the likes of Cam Norrie, Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek and Harriet Dart.

Arguably the most anticipated at Wimbledon will be the mixed doubles contest featuring Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu later in the day.

There is a chance that Murray and Raducanu could be playing at the same time England face off against Switzerland.

But All England Club chair Debbie Jevans has already made it clear that Wimbledon won't be showing any football on screens around the ground throughout the tournament.

“The big screens will be showing tennis,” Jevans told the Telegraph.

“All the screens around the grounds will be showing tennis. We’ll only be showing tennis, as matches will be going on into the evenings.

“If England are doing well a few people may slip away to watch football, but the Euros won’t affect attendances.

"We’ve had record applications, all the hospitality packages have sold out so we’re not nervous. The ballot was oversubscribed and we sold out in record time.

“If England are in the semi-final of the Euros a lot of the public will inevitably watch that rather than a tennis match, but they will come back to it.

"That doesn’t mean the Championships are failing and everything is bad.

"It’s just patriotism and the fact that people want to watch England. That’s OK.

"And it would be a fantastic challenge to have as it means England are winning.”

Jevans also indicated earlier in the tournament that they wouldn't be pressured into working their own schedule around Euro 2024 and any possible England matches.

“We’ll focus on the schedule that is right for Wimbledon, for tennis and the players,” Jevans added.

“If you’re Carlos Alcaraz and you finish late at night, you’d be pretty fed up if you had to go on first the next day to avoid clashing with an England football match.

“The BBC rightly get an input and can give an opinion, but ultimately it’s a tennis decision.

"We always prioritise the athletes and their health. You don’t want players out late at night and then back first thing in the morning as they need time to recover.”

The All England Club have been contacted for further comment.
