The Serb is hoping to win this year's tournament Down Under

Novak Djokovic has mocked Andy Murray with an impersonation of the tennis star.

Both players get on well off the court, having been two of the best players of their generation over the past 15 years.

Djokovic has won a staggering 24 Grand Slam titles throughout his career, a number no other male player in history has been able to reach.

And Murray, despite having to compete against the Serb, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, has won three crowns.

On Monday, the ATP Tour uploaded a clip of Djokovic.

He said: "I started thinking about Andy Murray.

"Okay. There's this guy who does [an] impersonation of Andy."

Djokovic then proceeds to look bored and rub his hand against his face, hilariously mimicking his long-term friend.

He seemed amused by his own actions and photographers snapping the world No 1 laughed along as well.

While Djokovic is in good spirits Down Under, however, the same can't be said for Murray.

The Briton went into his clash with Tomas Martin Etcheverry on Monday morning hoping to win and progress to the second round of the competition.

However, that didn't happen with Murray crashing out in straight sets.

The 36-year-old was emotional on the court after the defeat, with fans in attendance giving him a positive ovation.

And Murray then proceeded to admit that he could have played at the Australian Open for the last time.

“I’m disappointed,” Murray said. “Not much went right.

"It was a poor performance and it was very, very flat.

“It was an amazing crowd out there and they were trying to pick me up.

"Usually I would try and get them going and try and get energy to the match, but it was just a flat performance.

“I don’t know why. I played well in Brisbane and I practiced well in the 10 days coming into this.

“It’s definitely a possibility that’s the last time I play here. Probably because of how the match went.

“While you are playing the match you are trying to control your emotions and then you can’t believe it’s over so quickly.

"In comparison to last year, it’s the complete opposite.

“I wish I had involved the crowd more and I’m disappointed with the way I played.

"Disappointed with the way I finished.”

Had it not been for Djokovic, Murray would have won five more majors throughout his career.

He lost to the 36-year-old in the 2011 Australian Open final, 12 months after he'd been beaten by Roger Federer.

And Murray also lost to Djokovic in three other Australian Open finals, too, as well as the final match of the French Open in 2016.
