Katie Boutler is certain she will continue to raise her level ahead of a potential clash against Emma Raducanu at the Australian Open.
The British No 1 won her first round match against Yuan Yue in straight sets in Melbourne on Tuesday.
Boulter won 7-5, 7-6 to make it through to the second round of the first Grand Slam of 2024.
Raducanu won her match against Shelby Rogers 6-3, 6-2 shortly after to ensure both Brits made it through.

Boulter will play China's Qinwen Zheng in the second round on Thursday, while Raducanu will also have a Chinese opponent as she faces Wang Yafan.
The pair will meet in the third round if they are both victorious.
Boulter was pleased with how she played and, in a warning to Raducanu, is sure she will only continue to improve throughout the tournament.
She told BBC Radio 5 Sports Xtra: "It was really tricky conditions out there.
"I think it was a match about who was going to be the most headstrong on the day and I think I did that really well today.
"I'm happy with that so to be through to the second round, I'm delighted to give myself another chance at the biscuit and go for it.
"Whoever I play, I'm sure I'm going to come out and raise my level."
Boulter won the second set on a tie-break after earlier double-faulting twice while on match point.
The 27-year-old said situations such as that will only help her in the long run.
She added: "No, it really wasn't [enjoyable] but I think those moments define you as a player and make you stronger.
"I'm not entirely sure what happened in that moment but I found a way out of it.
"I think that's the important thing, nothing's going to be straightforward, especially in conditions like today.
"I think finding a way to win is pretty much most tennis. So I'm proud of myself."
Boulter turned it on in the tie-break, only losing one point.
She said: "I think I played some of my best tennis in the entire match in that tie-break and I just tried to stay calm and not panic too much because it's very easy in that situation to do so.
"I played a really good game to get myself into the tie-break and I think that kind of calmed me down and got me ready.
"I took one point at a time and managed to get my way through it and closed it out eventually."

Boulter has plenty of experience in Australia but not in the main draw, with Tuesday's game just the second in her career.
"Yeah that's correct," she said. "I've played a lot of matches here, I haven't had that many years where I've been in main draws so to come out and get a main draw win does mean a lot and it doesn't go unscathed.
"So I am very happy with the way I've managed to get through and hopefully there will be many, many more wins."
The hot conditions in Melbourne have proven tricky for the players in the opening three days of the tournament.
Britain's Jack Draper threw up immediately after his gruelling five-set win over Marcos Giron.

Boulter says the timing of a match affects what conditions you play in.
She said: "I think it's Melbourne and anything can happen.
"I think I've played in about four different seasons over the past week that I've been here.
"Completely different conditions when it's first thing in the morning it's a little bit more dead and then later on in the day it gets super windy.
"So depending on what time you play, you have to be ready and adapt accordingly."
