A man who exhibited "fixated behaviour" towards British tennis star Emma Raducanu has been handed a restraining order by Dubai Police following incidents at the Dubai Tennis Championships.
The 22-year-old former US Open champion was visibly upset after spotting the man in the crowd during her match against Karolina Muchova.
The tourist had approached Raducanu, given her a note and taken photographs of her in behaviour that "caused her distress".
Dubai authorities confirmed they took "swift action" to address the incident involving the British player.

Security removed the man from the tennis court after Raducanu spotted him sitting in the first few rows during her match.
The incident affected Raducanu's performance, as she went on to lose 7-6 (8-6) 6-4 to 14th seed Karolina Muchova.
During the match, Raducanu was seen hiding behind the umpire's chair, showing clear signs of distress.
The stalker's concerning behaviour had occurred prior to the match, when he approached Raducanu in public, presenting her with a note and taking photographs without permission.
In a statement shared on social media, Dubai Police said: "Following Raducanu's complaint, Dubai Police detained a tourist who approached her, left her a note, took her photograph, and engaged in behaviour that caused her distress."

The authorities emphasised their commitment to safety, stating: "Dubai remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors to the emirate."
The police confirmed they had taken "swift action" in accordance with local legal protocols to address the incident involving the British tennis star.
While Raducanu later chose not to press charges against the individual, formal action has still been taken to ensure her safety.

Dubai authorities have also banned him from attending future tournaments in the emirate.
