Emma Raducanu bumped into Andy Murray at the Australian Open after her second-round win.

Emma Raducanu has revealed she feared damaging her relationship with Andy Murray after withdrawing from their planned Wimbledon mixed doubles match last summer.

The 22-year-old British tennis star sent Murray a lengthy apologetic message following the incident, which occurred when she pulled out of their first-round contest due to wrist soreness.

The former US Open champion was particularly relieved to receive Murray's congratulations after her recent second-round victory at the Australian Open against Amanda Anisimova, signalling that any potential tension between the two has been resolved.

Murray was denied what could have been his final match at the All England Club when Raducanu withdrew ahead of their scheduled contest.

The Scot's disappointment was widely reported at the time, casting a shadow over Raducanu's subsequent singles performance.

Despite the controversy, Raducanu went on to achieve her best Grand Slam result since her US Open triumph, reaching the fourth round of the singles competition at Wimbledon.

The incident created significant attention during the tournament, prompting Raducanu to later address the situation directly with Murray.

"Afterwards I sent him a long message basically apologising if I caused any trouble, I guess, at Wimbledon, that's definitely the last thing I want," Raducanu said.

"He's someone that I've grown up looking up to and I don't want any bad blood or harsh feelings with him."

The British star revealed Murray responded positively to her message.

"He took it really well and responded saying he was disappointed but he understood," she added.

The exchange helped clear the air between the two British tennis stars, paving the way for a more comfortable relationship.

The pair's relationship has now returned to normal, with Raducanu confirming they regularly exchange pleasantries.

"We're fine now. We walk past each other and say, 'hello', 'well done'," she said.

Raducanu has adopted a positive approach to managing external pressures, focusing on surrounding herself with supportive people.

"I think this year I'm just approaching it quite holistically in the sense of just having good people around me, having a positive outlook," she explained.

"Anything that's not necessarily serving me, I'm pretty savage in terms of just prioritising myself and focusing.

"Anything that wants to try and affect that, I don't have time for it."
