Emma Raducanu will be targeting a return to top form next season.

Emma Raducanu has revealed she won't be taking a 'traditional break' before the start of next season as the British tennis star aims to take momentum into 2025.

The 2021 US Open champion underwent surgery on both her wrists in 2023 and headed into this season with hopes of getting back to form.

She began to rediscover her best performances in the summer with some impressive runs on the grass, including reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon.

But injuries curtailed her progress soon after the British major with Raducanu playing just three more tournaments on the WTA Tour.

Raducanu had hoped to end the season on a high in Asia, but she sprained ligaments in her foot that ruled her out for the remainder of the season.

She managed to get back to fitness in time for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals and she won all three of her singles matches in Malaga in straight sets.

Her form helped Great Britain reach the semi-finals, but Katie Boulter failed to follow in the footsteps of her compatriot as they crashed out to Slovakia.

There's now five weeks until the 2025 season gets underway with most players heading off for their winter break.

But Raducanu has no plans to take a holiday as she wants to hit the ground running next season.

"I think traditionally you’d probably have a bit of a break and take a holiday or something," Raducanu said.

"But I feel like I have had four, five weeks off tennis, and I don’t really need any more time off.

"If anything, I’m excited and just itching to get on the practice court, and of course seeing some of my performances this week, it just incentivises me to do more work."

Raducanu has already been confirmed in the field at the Auckland Open, which gets underway on December 30.

And the 22-year-old remains confident in her ability to return to the top of the WTA Tour soon.

"My assessment is, I think sometimes I need reminding, I’m top 60 in the world and I have played less than 15 events, which is pretty unheard of, in a way," Raducanu added.

"I have to pat myself on the back for that. I know I’m a dangerous player. I know no one wants to pull my name in the draw.

"I take pride in that, and I’m looking forward to hopefully staying on court longer next year."
