Emma Raducanu is through to the quarter-final of the Miami Open after a straight-sets victory over Amanda Anisimova

Emma Raducanu stormed into her first Miami Open quarter-final with a commanding straight-sets victory over Amanda Anisimova on Monday evening.

The British No 2 dispatched the American 6-1, 6-3 in just 68 minutes, showcasing the form that once made her a Grand Slam champion.

This impressive performance marks the first time Raducanu has won four consecutive matches at a tournament since her remarkable 2021 US Open triumph.

The 22-year-old Briton looked supremely confident throughout, dominating with her serve and displaying mature court craft that left her opponent visibly frustrated.

Raducanu's movement was particularly noteworthy as she continues her resurgence on the WTA Tour.

Raducanu's first set performance was nothing short of imperious, as she didn't lose a single point on her own service game.

The Briton raced to a 4-0 lead, breaking Anisimova twice in the process.

An increasingly irritated Anisimova managed to get on the board in the fifth game, but her temper was visibly fraying as Raducanu continued her dominance.

Sky Sports pundit Annabel Croft noted: "Anisimova is absolutely rattled. Her service game... I'm not sure Emma has even lost a point has she? Dropping the racket there, she’s absolutely fuming."

She later adding: "She is all over the place. That sigh says it all. Fed up out here. Not enjoying this. She's being humiliated."

Raducanu's fleet movement around the court left her American opponent without answers, as the former US Open champion wrapped up the opening set with a third break of serve.

Anisimova called for the physio at the end of the first set, appearing to seek treatment for a finger injury she had shared on social media prior to the match.

The medical timeout seemed to briefly help the 17th seed, who pushed Raducanu in the opening game of the second set.

Raducanu broke in the fourth game, before losing her own serve for the first time in the fifth as Anisimova began to change her tactics.

Any hopes of an American revival were swiftly extinguished as Raducanu broke straight back in the sixth game.

The Briton maintained her composure and didn't look back, eventually sealing victory with an Anisimova unforced error.

Raducanu's mature performance has made her the first British player in 10 attempts to win a WTA Tour 1000 last-16 match at a singles event.

"It was a mature performance from Raducanu, who has been forced to battle demons on and off the court already in 2025," noted one observer.

The British star will now face either Marta Kostyuk or Jessica Pegula in the quarter-finals.

She enters the last eight as an underdog, but carries the momentum of this impressive victory.

For the first time in a long while, the British flag will be flying proudly in the quarter-finals of a WTA 1000 event.

Raducanu's renewed sense of purpose suggests her work with fitness coach Yutaka Nakamura is finally paying dividends.
