Emma Raducanu has admitted she felt dizzy and faint in her Miami Open defeat to Jessica Pegula in the early hours of Thursday morning, with the Briton's sensational run at the tournament now over.
The 22-year-old had gone into the clash on a high, having won her first four matches out in the United States.
Raducanu put up a strong fight against Pegula, the No 4 seed for the competition, as she sought to win a first title since the US Open back in 2021.
Her run is now over, however, with her opponent advancing following a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 victory.

Late in the second set, which Raducanu won via a tie-break, the tennis star suffered from a bout of dizziness.
After receiving some medical treatment, which included having her blood taken, she was able to play on.
Now, speaking after the match, Raducanu has admitted she felt 'really dizzy' against Pegula - while also expressing a belief her condition was down to the humid weather.
"I just felt really dizzy. I felt faint," she said.

"I don’t know, it was very humid out there and we have a long wait.
"So maybe just an accumulation, and just physical points as well and there were long rallies and heavy conditions.
"But….yeah, I don't know how I kind of regrouped in that second set, but in the third I definitely struggled a little bit.”
Raducanu has, in the past, been criticised for not playing enough tennis.

This was particularly the case prior to last year's US Open, where she crashed to defeat in the first round.
Raducanu, when quizzed on what the immediate future holds, admitted to uncertainty - with the Briton eager to 're-evaluate' some things following her defeat.
“I’m not sure. I think I need to just take a beat and kind of just re-evaluate what I’m doing," she added.
"This week it was good, but I need to just kind of figure things out and then I’ll make a plan from there.”

While it was a disappointing defeat for Raducanu, Pegula is now just two victories away from Miami Open glory.
The American will lock horns with Alexandra Eala in the semi-finals, with that match due to take place tomorrow morning.
Pegula was complimentary of Raducanu following her win last night, with the 31-year-old pleased she was able to emerge from the match unscathed.
“It was tough," she admitted.

"I played a good first set, a little let down in the second, got it back, went up 2-0 in the tiebreak, but it kind of flipped.
“She started moving the ball really well, serving good… sometimes it just happens, but I just wanted to come out in the third really strong, really quick, and just kind of jump on her and not keep the third set too close.”
