Emma Raducanu has had rotten luck with injuries yet again

Emma Raducanu has announced her return from injury will come at the Hong Kong Open this month.

The Briton has suffered from injury troubles yet again this year which forced her to pull out of the Korea Open last month.

She sprained ligaments in her foot which forced her to retire from her clash against Daria Katsatkina and she has not played since.

It meant the 2021 US Open champion had to miss the China Open despite travelling to the event and also she was ruled out of the Ningbo Open as well in Hangzhou Bay.

But in a statement on social media, Raducanu has announced that she is preparing to take part in the Hong Kong Open, which starts on October 28.

“Hello everyone, it’s Emma Raducanu here,” she said.

“I really cannot wait to come and play the Prudential Women’s Hong Kong Open.

"It’s my first time playing the WTA event there, but I was there in December last year and I really loved the city.

“So I’m very much looking forward to coming and I hope to see you all there in October.”

Raducanu is not the only top tennis star making a grand return from injury at the tournament after Naomi Osaka also revealed she is set to take part.

In an Instagram story, Osaka revealed, "It was worse than what I thought (I just have a high pain tolerance lol) and I'm trying my best to potentially play Tokyo but I'm still waiting to see what the doctor says."

The Hong Kong Tennis Open boasts an impressive lineup of players. British No. 1 Katie Boulter will join the competition, alongside rising star Diana Shnaider and world No. 38 Anastasia Potapova.

Raducanu is looking to build up her fitness ahead of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals quarter-final against Germany next month.

The tournament gets underway on November 13 in Spain and form and fitness have been a problem for the 21-year-old.

Last year, she missed the majority of the season after undergoing surgery on both of her wrists and ankles.

However, Raducanu reasserted herself on the biggest scene of all when she reached the quarter-final of Wimbledon over the summer.

But having played just three tournaments since the SW19 competition, including a first-round exit at the US Open, injuries have hit her once again.
