Andy Murray has been ruled out of Wimbledon this summer, having originally planned to make a final farewell appearance at the competition.
The 37-year-old injured his back during his match against Jordan Thompson at Queens on Wednesday.
The Telegraph reported Murray is now set to miss Wimbledon after having an operation on a spinal cyst.
And that's now been confirmed by the ATP Tour on X with a short statement that read: "After an operation on a spinal cyst, Andy Murray is sadly out of Wimbledon...

"Rest up and recover Andy, we'll miss seeing you there."
Fans on X have sent their messages of support to Murray, who previously won Wimbledon twice in 2013 and 2016 respectively.
"Gutted but it's what he needs to do. (The hope inside me says he plays to Wimbledon next year now," said one user.
A second stated: "Sad news, I think he shouldn’t have played in Queens and played his 1000th match in Wimbledon, that would have been the way to go, victory or defeat doesn’t matter."

A third opined: "No way man never playing Wimbledon again."
And a fourth said: "Awful news, the man has had no luck in recent years, hopefully he gets another chance to play it."
It is currently unclear if Murray will be able to play for Team GB at the Paris Olympics this summer.
A statement from his manager on Friday said: "Andy is having a procedure on his back tomorrow [Saturday].

"We will know more after this has taken place and will update further as soon as possible."
Earlier this week, Murray had to receive treatment after just three games during his match with Thompson.
And he later shed light on his back issue, saying: "Like all tennis players, we have degenerative joints and stuff in the back but it's all predominantly been left-sided for me my whole career.

"I have never had too many issues with the right side.
"So maybe there is something that can be done between now and then to help the right side."

As well as playing singles, Murray had intended to feature in the doubles alongside his brother, Jamie.
However, it now seems as though fans have seen the last of the Briton when it comes to his Wimbledon adventure.
