The Briton looks set to juggle his coaching role with Novak Djokovic and his new job

Former tennis champion Andy Murray has embarked on a new sporting chapter, signing as a brand ambassador for Callaway Golf.

The two-time Wimbledon champion and double Olympic gold medallist is now focusing his competitive spirit on the golf course rather than the tennis court.

Murray, 37, retired from professional tennis last August following the Olympics after a stellar career.

Since hanging up his racket, the Scottish sporting icon has been dedicating his efforts to improving his golf game.

The partnership, announced today, will see Murray working with one of the world's leading golf equipment manufacturers as he pursues excellence in his new sporting passion.

Murray currently plays off a seven handicap and is a member at the prestigious Beaverbrook Golf Club in Surrey.

He has been using Callaway clubs since September last year after being fitted at their European Performance Centre.

"I've been playing a lot of golf since I retired from tennis and Callaway have been supporting me with this," Murray explained.

"It's made a huge difference to my performance already. I'm hoping to reduce my handicap so I'm looking forward to working with them to keep improving my game."

The former world number one tennis player is clearly applying his renowned work ethic to his new sporting pursuit.

Callaway plans to leverage Murray's influence to introduce new audiences to golf, showcasing the sport's accessibility and excitement.

Fans will have the opportunity to follow Murray's golfing journey through exclusive content created by Callaway.

"His enthusiasm for golf is infectious, and we can't wait to support him on this journey while creating content that inspires both existing and new golfers alike."

Murray will showcase Callaway equipment throughout the year in various projects chronicling his development as a golfer.

Despite his new golfing pursuits, Murray hasn't completely left tennis behind.

The former British number one took on a coaching role with his one-time rival Novak Djokovic earlier this year.

Murray supported the 24-time Grand Slam champion at the Australian Open in January.

Their partnership will continue at the upcoming Miami Open, where Djokovic is looking to reclaim his dominance after a challenging start to 2024.

The Serbian star has experienced early exits in Doha and Indian Wells, with injury hampering his Australian Open campaign.

He kickstarts his Miami Open bid against Australian player Rinky Hijikata on Friday with Murray in his corner after he revealed that he would continue as a coach 'indefinitely'.
