The England skipper has opened up with his Ashes team-mate now set to become a commentator
Ben Stokes has revealed his wife's hilarious reaction after Stuart Broad confirmed he'd be retiring from cricket.
England won the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval on Monday, with Broad taking the last two wickets to spark wild celebrations.
The 37-year-old had confirmed he would be quitting the sport days previously after more than 15 years of playing at the highest level.
And Stokes has now revealed the hilarious way his wife, Clare, reacted to the news.

"You know he announced his retirement and I told my wife that this was going to be his last game," he said.
"And she was like, 'Oh, Broady is the one who messages me saying that Ben's got home safe after a good night out'.
"So she doesn't have that anymore, So it's going to be someone else."
Broad will certainly be walking away from the sport as one of the finest bowlers England have ever produced.
The veteran ended his career with 604 Test wickets, with only Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, compatriot James Anderson and India's Anil Kumble managing more.
Broad also played 167 matches, too, and managed an impressive average of 27.68 - as well as an economy rate of 2.97.
This summer's Ashes will live long in the memory. Arguably, it was the greatest Test series played in this country since England won the tournament back in 2005.
And Stokes believes it was something the sport needed. He said: "I genuinely believe this is what Test cricket needed.
"Every player in an England and Australia shirt is a massive advocate for Test cricket to stay alive.
"We have been very vocal about that being an objective in the way we play and I think this series has really done that.
"It has captivated so many new fans and attracted a new audience. Test cricket is the purest form and I absolutely love it.
"I hope this series has got it even bigger.
"Two high-quality teams going at it toe-to-toe has been something you couldn't take your eyes off. Every session has been its own game.
"I really hope we've inspired a new generation. I look back to 2005 and what that series did for me as a young person, and I really hope there's someone who's the age I was then who says: 'That's what I want to be doing'."
Many feel England were the better side during the series.
However, they missed out on securing the urn after rain prevented England from going for glory in the fourth Test.
Stokes, however, feels a scoreline of 2-2 was the fair result.
"I think 2-2 is a fair reflection of the teams literally going toe-to-toe," added the England skipper.
"Australia are world Test champions, they are a quality team.
"I don't think many teams would have been able to respond from 2-0 down [like we did]. I am incredibly proud of everyone's efforts.
