The Ashes series ended in a 2-2 draw after the hosts won the fifth and final Test match on Monday

Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes were snapped in McDonalds after helping England beat Australia in the fifth Ashes Test on Monday.

The hosts had gone into that final match hoping to draw the series and prevent the Baggies from reigning supreme on British soil for the first time since 2001.

And England did exactly that, with Broad the hero in his final match in Test cricket.

The 37-year-old, who had confirmed his retirement on Saturday, took the final two Aussie wickets to help England avoid defeat.

And footage uploaded by TikTok account @luki_knight shows Broad and Stokes among the players visiting McDonald's in South Kensington.

Several other England team-mates were there, including Zak Crawley, Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes and Josh Tongue.

England players seemed to be in good spirits after managing to draw with Australia.

And Broad was seen picking up the order, while also carrying bottles of water.

England players' trip to McDonald's came just hours after they were accused of snubbing post-series drinks with their Australian counterparts.

Some members of the Australian media suggested England had avoided the tradition.

But Stokes then hit back on Twitter, saying: "To clarify… Our wrap took longer than expected because of multiple last time event’s.

"We decided to meet up in the night club rather than the dressing room."

England players previously visited a kebab shop in Nottingham after beating New Zealand at Trent Bridge last year.

And they'll now be focused on winning the Ashes next time out, though Broad won't be part of the squad.

Instead, the iconic bowler is set to become a commentator.

Broad explained his decision to retire by saying: "It's been a wonderful ride, a huge privilege to wear the Nottinghamshire and England badge as much as I have.

"I'm loving cricket as much as I ever have, it's been a wonderful series to be a part of and I've always wanted to finish at the top.

"This series feels like it has been the most wonderful and entertaining to be a part of."

He added: "I thought a lot about it and even up to last night I wasn't sure, but once I went to Stokesy's room and told him, I felt really happy and content with everything I've achieved in the game.

"Ultimately, the decision came down to... I know I wanted to leave the game loving cricket and my lasting memory being of a really enjoyable changing room.

"It feels like my changing room and I wanted to walk away playing with a group of players I love to bits."

After helping England beat Australia, Broad said: “It’s been so special to walk off with a great group of friends.

“Ultimately, I wanted to leave the game loving it, and loving the environment and my memories of playing cricket are going to be pretty cool.

“Taking those last two wickets proved to me that I still loved taking wickets because I just ran around like a headless chicken. I still have that emotion and love for winning Test matches.
