Ronnie O'Sullivan is looking to become just the fourth snooker player in history to win all Triple Crown events in the same season at the World Championships next month.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has admitted he's "not really" excited about the World Snooker Championships next month despite his chance of making history.

Steve Davis (1987/88), Stephen Hendry (1989/90 and 1995/96) and Mark Williams (2002/03) are the only snooker stars to win all three Triple Crown events in a single season.

Nobody has picked up more individual Triple Crown titles than O'Sullivan, but he had only ever won more than one in a single season back in the 2007/08 season up until this campaign.

Now the snooker legend is on the brink of making even more history having stormed to victory at the UK Championship and Masters already this year.

O'Sullivan is bidding to win his eighth World Championship next month - which would move him ahead of Stephen Hendry at the top of the all-time list in the modern era.

The 48-year-old continued his rich vein of form by winning the inaugural Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker last week.

There's only a couple of tournaments left before the World Championships get underway next month, but O'Sullivan doesn't appear that bothered about the upcoming event.

When asked on The Stomping Ground whether he was 'excited for the Worlds', O'Sullivan replied nonchalantly: "Not really.

"I'm just looking forward to getting to Sheffield.

"I've got my bike up there. I'll have my friends up there. We booked a house. I'll be cooking pretty much every day.

"Just keeping myself fit and healthy and just having some good friends around me.

"It will be a good 17 days."

O'Sullivan's mellow attitude to making even more history in snooker gives an indication to where his motivation truly lies.

He even claimed that the £395,000 on offer for potting the 'golden ball' in Saudi Arabia didn't affect him too much.

"I'm not really motivated by money in many ways," he added.

"If the opportunity would have presented itself I would have gone for it because I know that it would have been great for the promoters.

"They really wanted someone to get it but you know we had a tournament to play and you have to play the right shots.

"That's what's got me so far in my career."

Eddie Hearn joined the interview a few minutes later where he admitted that Saudi Arabia will likely host "multiple events" on the snooker calendar in the near future.

"I thought the crowd was great as we picked up momentum in the week," he said.

"Like Ronnie said, the music and everything was just something fresh and as people that haven't been to Saudi Arabia, when you come in you start to realise what a great place it is and that's why we've been here what five times with the boxing now.

"We're going to be here every probably two months and they're just bringing the biggest events and who knows what the future holds for snooker here too.

"I see multiple events happening in Saudi Arabia which is great for these guys because they can play all over the world for a lot of money."
