Pep Guardiola responded with self-deprecating humour to "sacked in the morning" chants from Liverpool fans during Manchester City's 2-0 defeat at Anfield on Sunday.
The loss to Liverpool marked City's sixth defeat in seven games, leaving the reigning Premier League champions languishing in fifth place.
The result has also left Guardiola's side trailing 11 points behind the league leaders, as their title defence continues to unravel in a concerning run of form.
Liverpool fans taunted Guardiola towards the end of the match on Sunday, chanting, "Sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the morning."

In response, Guardiola held up six fingers to the Anfield crowd, reminding them of his Premier League title haul with Manchester City.
The gesture came as the chants rang around the stadium following Liverpool's second goal.
"Maybe they are right with the results we've been having," Guardiola told Sky Sports, showing a rare moment of self-deprecation despite having recently signed a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium.
"All the stadiums want to sack me. It started at Brighton."
The City manager acknowledged he was surprised to hear the chants at Anfield, taking aim at the Liverpool crowd for mocking him.
"I didn't expect it from the people from Liverpool but it's fine, it's part of the game, and I understand completely," he added.

The defeat at Anfield laid bare City's struggles, with Liverpool outplaying their rivals in every department.
The absence of key midfielders Rodri and Mateo Kovacic was particularly telling, as Liverpool's trio of Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai dominated the middle of the park.
City's defence had no answer to Luis Diaz's direct running and Mohamed Salah's vision, with the performance statistics showing Liverpool created over three expected goals while City managed just 0.78.
"We don't have the pace in the middle right now and they are stronger in the duels," Guardiola acknowledged, addressing City's current struggles.
The City manager remained steadfast in his support for his squad, stating: "I am here sitting as a manager and defending what we have done in the past thanks to them and more than ever I want to be with them and hug them.
