The snooker star has opened up following his failure to win on Sunday

Judd Trump has voiced frustration about the balls used in the Players Championship final after suffering a narrow 10-9 defeat to Kyren Wilson.

The former world champion described having a "very, very strange" experience with the equipment during Sunday's match.

Trump claimed the unusual ball behaviour prevented him from playing his trademark free-flowing snooker that had been evident throughout earlier rounds of the tournament.

Both players reportedly complained to the referee during the tense final as they struggled with the conditions.

Trump elaborated on the specific issues with the equipment during his post-match interview with ITV.

"It was tricky for both of us. The ball was very light and it was taking off like a ping-pong ball. It was a bit strange," he explained.

The unusual ball behaviour created unexpected challenges for both competitors.

Trump admitted his disappointment with the situation, saying: "It was difficult because coming into the game, I thought it was going to be a brilliant standard."
